I'm a guy with knee length hair & want to go swimming?

Any ideas on how to wear it, so I don't feel like I'm swimming in my own hair? (please don't say cut it). Also, my hair gets extremely heavy when it's wet, because of the length, kind of makes it hard to get out of the pool. I can braid it, but since my hair is so long, it's hard to take apart the braid when it's wet. I tried swimming caps, but all of my hair won't fit in.

Any ideas?

Ok, I have worked with hair that has been much longer and they had the same problem and my suggestion was to Quad fold your hair up towards your head and then band it at your head and at the center of the fold, this may add weight but you really can't get away from that, but by just banding it, when you get done, you just take the bands out and comb thru the hair, so much more convienent, than both of those you said.

Ponytail, bun, etc, but knee length hair is really long, most girls don't have it so there aren't very many known hairstyles you can do.

Do what the Sikhs do-- put in a turban. I have seen some Sikhs swimming with their hair in a turban %26amp; it looks normal.

I would just like to tell you that guys are hottest with shorter hair. Believe me I know coz I'm a girl and I have never been attracted to guys with that kind of hair. I espeically like guys who gel it.

hmm, this is a wierd question but, i'd say put your hair in a ponytail then put it in a really tight bun.

You should get like 4 or 5 cornrows and then at the ends put rubber bands and then pull them all together and wrap it around in a circle right at the back of your head.

Floorlength hair here and I also have the same issues, but seem to do just fine in the water with my hair.... Honestly most of the time i just wear it down.... TThe mermaid effect really is cool and doesn't seem to tangle all that much.... I do however wear it in buns and braids too when swiming.... If your going to do a briad make sure it a very tight braid, so loose strands won't be prone to unravling and wraping themselves around to tangle.... That can be a pain at times :O( Buns work great if your not wanting to get your hair soaked.... If you do swim under water and your bun gets totally wet the wieght will be a problem but all your hair will stay in one place and not have all the tangling.... My hair is very heavy and thick so I'm all the time tring to come up with new ideas for wearing whatever life has to throw at me.... Put it into a bun. You might also try wearing a swim cap. I have hair to my waist and I am on swim team. I always put my hair into a bun and put a swim cap over it to keep it out of my face.

welll i hope you consider doing somethign like locks of love for people who need wigs because i have a friend who was just diagnosed with leukemia whowill have to have a wig and she probably needs the hair more than you do, but if you really need to you should braid it..

If you insist on having hair to your knees then that is up to you to try to solve this problem. My advice would be to cut it and get a stylish cut. Good luck.

Why not consider cutting it and giving to locks of love for cancer patients to get wigs. My coworker was cancer patient and when her hair grew back she let it grow long enough to give back to locks of love.

Maybe a poney tail, then to keep it together and from tangling up, I would use hair bands like every 10 inches,or whatever feels comfortable for you. Then if you like you may fold it in half to make your hair shorter, and using the hair bands do the samething again. You will probably need a whole bunch of hairbands! Hope this helps!

I'm a swimmer and i have long hair also, so just get hair ties braid it and then wrap it up into a bun and put inside a cap.

Use silicon caps or latex they both stretch very well.

wet your hair before you braid it then use a leave in conditioner a good one is Paul Mitchell The Conditioner. That way the hair wont be so pours in the water and you'll get a good deep condition too

Condition it very well after washing it. Then, put a leave in conditioner on it. Braid it, and when you come out of the pool, just unbraid it the way you braided it. It shouldn't get all tangled up. Just have to be patient so as not to pull at it. OR you can take a shower with the braid in, condition it in the shower and undo the braid while there. My hair is waist length and its growing faster these days because I am more gentle with it.
