that happens to a lot of girls...she should lay off the braids for a while..make sure she conditions the front of her hair everyday...with "hair food" (its actually called hair food) some leave in conditioner...don't use harsh products like dye, perm, peroxide, etc... give it a while it should grow back..i mean i think i would know a thing or two about hair..mine was 23 inches long (i donated it to a cancer patient twice) ...good luck!

my friend has a similair prob. there is a medical term for it, you had it too tight for too long. You need half a day of rest for every day you have it in a tight pony tail or braid. so if she had braids in for 3 months then she needs 1 and a half months of rest JUST to heal, plus hair growing time.

next time dont braid her hair so tight. at this point of time i think you should get a brush and some jam (not gel, jam is better for black people in my opinion and yes the product is called jam) put some on your daughters front part of her hair and bush it.

Well i dont know any product that will help hair grow fast but my hair in the front used to fall out too i had a fear of lice so whenever i felt like something was moving in my head i would scratch and eventually my hair fell out in the front. So what i did was i would always put my hair up to cover it. Take bobbie pins and style it to cover the part of the head where the hair fell out and cover till her hair comes back. you can do many styles and be stylish and different. it may even start a new trend. if you dont like how you style it urself, go to a stylist or hair parlor and ask if they have any suggestions!
