Hair dying question?

ok i have really dark / really really curly hair. i usually wear it in braids/plaits (w/o extensions) and when its braided its comes down to the bottom of my neck .

i want to dye it so that the bottom or the underneath is red ( a dark red )

1, does anyone have an example(pic) closer to what im talking about

2. when i go to the hairdresser , is this explanation ok or should i give more details , %26amp; a picture

3. how often will i have to get touch ups .. ?

my hair has been growing fairly fast lately . its grown triple its length then it was about 21/2 years ago. back then it was maybe 2 1/2 inches now its about 8 in the shortest places and12 at the crown..

i recomend growing out your hair to a little longer then shoulder length, straightening it a lot , and definetly bring a picture. you will prob. need a touch up about 1ce a month. good luck!
