I have to wear my hair up for work...any suggestions?

As far as up-dos go, I know how to put my hair in a pony tail and braid it...that's about it. My hair is one of my better features, so I usually show it off by wearing it down. At my new job, I must wear it up.

Okay, I have very long (a little longer than the middle of my back), straight, semi thick hair with long layers and a few that are face framing. What are some nice up-dos?

why dont u do a pony tail and add a really cute bright colored head band... the good thing about a ponytail is that it accentuates ur cheekbones..

u could also do a messy bun ( and if u have bangs do that sideswept bangs)

i dont know if u would like to do some pigtails and where the scrunchie is... add like a lace and tie it around...

those are the only ones i couldd think of.... i hope i helped

Roll it it up in a bun

Try a loose, messy bun with some ends falling out, it's cool and casual while looking updo-y at the same time. If you don't know how, here's how:

Put your hair up in a ponytail. twist it all in one direction, and wrap the twisted pony in a circle around the elastic band, and secure with another elastic that fits securely around the bun. Carefully take some ends out of the top, pair with a smile and you're done!

Try a high pony tail, but don't wear too often as this strains the hair. Use a scrunchie to minimize tension.

A pony tail at the nape secured by a big barrette looks nice on long hair.

French braids (1 or 2) are gorgeous and are better at keeping hair off your face than any other style.

Try a high messy bun secured with pins.

Or a flipped ponytail (simply make a notch right above your ponytail, bend your head over and flip it through).

One way to vary any of the above updos is to make a little pouf on top with hair pins -- but this must be done at the end.

For finishing touches add hair gel if needed and pull out your face framing layers (in case you need to soften a square, severe face; if you have softer features you can wear your hair more tightly pulled back).
